Agave americana var. oaxcacensis.
Oaxcacensis can grow into enormous plants. They tend to flower in 15-20 years, growing to be 6-8 ft. in height and as wide as they are tall. Both drought & frost tolerant. They represent some of our hardiest agaves. They tend to produce a lot of clones, are generally a light bluish grey-green color and have very wide, thorny leaves with sharp spears at the end. Given their size, we recommend planting on 11-12ft centers and 6-7ft down the row…for ~ 550 plants per acre.
