Agave karwinskii (aka: cuixe, barril & cirial)

Karwinskill is a slow growing, upright agave that can take 10-12 to mature. It perfers well drained soils, full sun and is hardy in USDA zones 9b to 11. The plant produces clones, bulbils and seeds for replanting. We are considering planting these on 80 inch beds, 3-4 ft down the row for ~ 1,800 plants per acre. The plant looks like a yucca and can grow to a height of 6 feet or more. Essentially, the pina is in the shape of a log.
